Video - Final Version

I was told after my first draft that it was quite good, however some major concerns were raised about the length of some of my clips, so I shortened some and added snippets between them to try and add variance.
As well as this I made attempts to properly sync up all of my clips to the music, and I believe that this covers all of the feedback I received, so I am calling this my final draft.

This concludes the construction stage of my coursework, so thankyou for anyone who particpated in it by giving me feedback or their opinion, it was very much appreciated and I'm grateful that you spared some time from your day to day lives to help me improve my products.

Video - First Draft

This is the first draft of my video, it is full length and ready for viewing at a fair quality.

As always, contact me with any feedback you wish to give me on my product, and I'll be sure to get back to you and make improvements based upon what you tell me.

Thanks in Advance (again) Drew.

Video - Rough Cut

This is the rough cut of most of my video, I think it gives a good idea of what it will look like in the future, with only some scenes which are too dark requiring re-filming, my first draft of the final product will be up soon, hopefully I will be able to re-use footage, or make it less jumbled before I give it to some people for feedback. I realise this is quite jumbled in parts, and depending on feedback from my first draft, I may likely decide to use less jumbled scenes with steadier camera shots, as this is more conventional to music videos of the specific musical genre.

One of the things i definitely want to keep is me lip syncing to the rap on the snowy fields of mow cop, as this will be hard to re-film based upon current weather conditions, I also may not be able to get a hold of my friend Mike, the guitarist in the video, as he had to spare alot of time just to get my rough footage up and working. Overall, I think the rough cut came out better than I could have hoped, with some minor timing tweaks and such to help set the mood off right and make it look better.

Video Planning - Location Shots

Here are some location shots of potential filming locations, and a brief description of their usefulness and how I believe they could be adapted to suit the situations I require.

This is my back garden, I believe it would be a great place to record some lip synced rapping for my Video. Though I am unsure of angles on the shot, on a clear day and with the fence or garden as a backdrop would be suitable for a casual last rapped verse to my chosen song. This is based on the assumption that a darker theme is used towards the start of the song, and the more cheerful setting is coupled with shows of the greenery around Chell Heath and Chatterly Whitfield.
This is my bedroom. The colour contrasts and lighting could easily be applied to a more solemn part of the song, and the bed could serve as a place to sit and play guitar in a pseudo-live performance. It could also be used in other ways, such as part of the montage section of my video, but this is yet to be seen, and may be easier to film on the go, to provide a sense of actual flow, rather than just a few amateur shots from my bedroom.

The snow capped streets around Chell and Mow Cop would serve as an excellent location for some Lip Sycned rapping, as long as they did not melt in between video shoots - this would cause a massive problem with continuity, and possibly require total re filming in the case of drastic weather changes.

How I will use the locations I have scouted and how useful this research will be can only be decided in a trial by fire - by first filming and testing the footage against what is expected of the Genre.

EDIT - according to audience feedback, the snowy setting would suit my video well, but acquiring enough footage for this setting will definitely prove time consuming, and perhaps become more of a problem than a solution.

Album - Final Version

These is my final album spread, I based it upon feedback which I had gotten from previously released in my drafts. Several important changes have happened, from minor contrast changes to complere removal of images and text changes. These wereall based upon feedback from my target audience, and so all play a vital role in making my products successful.

This is my front cover. It has changed heavily since the previous draft. An important fact was pointed out, and that is that the lyrics in the album are of an adult nature, and even though the album contains a clean version of the song, there are explicit lyrics and therefore a warning must be put in place. As well as this I had to remove the guitarist. This is because of feedback given to me based upon the fact that though the title track contains the guitarist Chad Hatcher, many of the other songs do not involve him, therefore it would be safer to base the poster on the song, and then the album on the main artist, which is why I enlarged the rapper and took out the guitarist. As well as this I changed the font size to make it more visible and bold when looked at from a distance. Overall I believe this is a good attempt at my final version of my album cover, and think that I have fully justified the changes and making of it.
This is the inside cover to my Album, it is very much like the original version, aside from a slgiht contrast change, this is barely noticeable and is meant to be so, as feedback dictated that only minor changes were needed due to its brightness. I followed feedback precisely and didnt change much from my previous draft, so I believe it satisfies my target audience and the people I asked for feedback.
This is the back cover to my album, the main, and perhaps only change from the previous version is brightening. Due to the dark and shadowy nature of the original, feedback I received was based around making the picture lighter so that the dark font could be more easily visible. This satisfies the feedback I have received and therefore means I have made all of the changes to my work in order to make this my final draft.

Overall I believe that this Album is quite conventional and fits my target audience well. In my evaluation I shall go into this in more depth.

Album - First Draft.

Based on comments and feedback from my mockup, as well as feedback from my front cover, I have made choices which influence the change from Mockup to First Draft. I have taken various pieces of advice into account and used them to help improve my work, overall making my products more appealing to my target audience (in theory). This is my front cover, It was chosen when I raised the point that perhaps the guitarist should be in the foreground. This being said, the guitarist is now in the foreground, as this was chosen. Other issues were raised about the front cover as well - but I shall address these problems in my final draft - thankyou for your feedback. For my inside cover, I didn't really have to change much, Because this tends to just contain artwork and nothing more, I decided to merely add band positions and who fills them - Guitars for Chad Hatcher, Rap Vocals for Classified etc. This was a necessary change, as my research has compelled me to follow conventions, and just a blank picture has only been found by me in a small portion of my owned albums. This is my back cover, I took my time creating it, and made sure that it contained features that people liked, such as an actual character and recognisable environment, yet also personal to my style. In doing this, I created what I consider to be a good attempt, though this is always open to discussion, and the Final Draft will be improved based upon feedback.
